Metra introduces custom finishes for its dash kits at CES

March 3, 2010

Holly Hill, Fla. –As the industry leader in auto sound innovation, Metra has developed a new process to provide custom finishes, made to order, for any of its stereo dash kits. The custom-finished dash kits will be on display at CES, Jan. 7-10, at Metra’s booth 2411.

Metra will be displaying 54 dash kits at CES, and 44 of them are exclusive – only available from Metra. Of those, 18 kits feature Metra’s Turbo2 technology that replaces the factory climate-control panels, soft-touch buttons, laser-etched back lighting, LCD displays and OnStar functions. Turbo2 dash kits also feature OEM-quality, ABS plastic with a painted, scratch-resistant finish, designed to precisely match the factory dash curves and contours with seamless perfection.

Now, thanks to Metra’s innovative process, these dash kits and others can be finished at a higher level to match the various colors and textures of the original factory radio panels.

Custom finishes include: carbon fiber, Burlwood Light, Burlwood Cherry and other wood grains, camouflage, granite, brushed aluminum and many more.

For example, the dash kits for the Ford F-150 2009-2010 (DIN 99-5822 and DDIN 95-5822) come with a matte black, scratch-resistant finish, and can now be customized to factory match three OEM wood finishes: Milano Maple, Curly Maple or Ash Satin.
